What is Art Therapy?
"Art Therapy is a type of Psychotherapy that uses art media as its primary mode of expression and communication" (British Association of Art Therapists)

"I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I have no words for" (O'Keeffe, 2015)
Art Therapy invites the use of different art media such as paints, clay, pastels and chalk..............to express and explore difficult feelings that may be hard to put into words. You can choose to talk about your artwork if you want.
There is NO right or wrong way to make things or to use art materials. You do not have to be good at art to participate in Art Therapy.
As an Art Therapist, my aim is to support you when working with thoughts and feelings that can sometimes be challenging and overwhelming. Art Therapy can provide a safe space for personal and spiritual growth, in which the art process is flexible to accommodate your individual needs in the pursuit of a deeper understanding of yourself, developing coping strategies and improving emotional well-being.
